Dr. Sean G. Boynes is a Dentist Anesthesiologist and currently serves as Director of Dental Medicine at CareSouth Carolina in Society Hill, SC. He is actively involved in pharmacologic, anesthesia, and public health related research, having served as principle investigator for several federal and industry funded research projects. Prior to taking his current position, Dr. Boynes served as Director of Anesthesia Research and Local Anesthesia Course Director at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He is a member of numerous professional organizations and serves as chairperson on several national and international committees. Dr. Boynes is an Expert Advisor for The Dentaquest Institute and serves on the South Carolina Medicaid Advisory Council. He has authored or co-authored approximately sixty publications relating to dentistry, public health, pharmacology, or anesthesiology and his book, Dental Anesthesiology: A Guide to the Rules and Regulations of the United States of America, is currently being used as a reference guide by many dental organizations and oversight boards. In addition, he has lectured throughout the United States and internationally on integrated dental medicine and provided expert testimony on the use of phentolamine mesylate in dentistry to the European Medicines Agency.
