Dr. Joseph Kan completed his Prosthodontics training and the Master degree in Implant Dentistry from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry (LLUSD) in 1995. His honors include the 1997 Best Research Award from the Academy of Osseointegration and the 2003 Judson C. Hickey Scientific Writing Award from the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry.
Dr. Kan served as the clinical director for the Center for Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry, LLUSD from 1996 to 1998. He is currently Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and the coordinator for the Pre-doctoral Implant Program at LLUSD. He also maintains a private practice limited to Prosthodontics and Implant Surgery.
Dr. Kan is a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry. He is also one of the Section Editor of Periodontology/Implantology for the Practical Procedures & Aesthetic Dentistry. Dr. Kan has lectured worldwide and had published numerous articles on refereed journals and chapters in textbooks. Dr. Kan is a member of the Academy of Osseointegration, American College of Prosthodontists, American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics and an Associate member of the Pacific Coast Society of Prosthodontists.
