Dr. Portenoy is a 1985 graduate of the SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, where he received his D.D.S. with Thesis Honors in Behavioral Psychology. He is a Scholar of the L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education. The Pankey Institute is the leading center for post-graduate training of dentists and Dr. Portenoy is first of six dentists in the world to be awarded Scholar status, the institute’s highest honor.
Dr. Portenoy received implant surgical training at Columbia University and has received Fellowship status from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He holds a position as visiting faculty at the L.D. Pankey Institute, and was recently elected to the Board of Directors for the L.D. Pankey Foundation. He is a Nationally recognized speaker and is on both the Seattle Study Club and Pankey Institute Speakers bureau’s. Dr. Portenoy’s publications include DENTAL ECONOMICS, DENTALTOWN, and the SEATTLE STUDY CLUB JOURNAL Dr. Portenoy is married and has three children. He is a resident of Rockville Centre.
